Ingredients

  • 10-15 10-15 garlic cloves

  • 1/2 1/2 cup olive oil

  • 1 Tbsp 1 chopped thyme

  • 1/2 1/2 bunch parsley, also for serving

  • 150 g 150 butter

  • 1 tsp 1 chilli flakes

  • 1 tsp 1 smoked paprika

  • 50 g 50 parmesan, with extra for in between bread slices and serving

  • Salt and pepper

  • 1 large 1 ciabatta bread

Method

  • Peel and place garlic in an oven- proof container reserving 2 fresh garlic cloves for later. Add olive oil, making sure garlic is fully submerged, then add thyme leaves.
  • Place into oven at 120°C for two hours until garlic is tender and golden. 3. Finely chop parsley.
  • Let butter reach room temperature and add parsley , chilli flakes, paprika, parmesan, salt and pepper. Crush reserved garlic cloves and mix well until combined.
  • Add confit garlic once ready and mash through.
  • Slice ciabatta bread across 3⁄4 of the way down so slices are still attached to loaf with 2cm-separation in between slices.
  • Spread garlic butter into each slice and fill in with cheese. Sprinkle with more parmesan and place in air fryer at 180°C for 12 minutes.
  • Remove from air fryer and serve warm with freshly grated parmesan and chopped parsley.
