2 large 2 whole squid (they will clean it for you at our Fish in the Family in-store counter!)
1 jar 1 Fish in the Family Marinara Sauce
1 cup 1 water
100 g 100 dried spaghetti or linguini
- To serve
Small handful fresh parsley
1 small 1 crusty baguette
Method
- Remove the thin film-like skin and fin off squid. Slice tubes into 1cm rings. Cut tentacles in quarters. Pour sauce and a cup of water in a medium saucepan and bring to a gentle simmer. Add squid, stir through and braise on medium-low heat for 15-20 minutes. It should become soft and tender.
- Meanwhile, cook pasta according to packet instructions. Strain pasta and divide between two serving bowls. Top with squid marinara. Sprinkle with chopped parsley and serve with crusty baguette on the side, perfect for mopping up the last bits of the sauce.
Notes
- *CHEF’S TIP: If you want to save time and hassle de-seeding a whole pomegranate, you can use thawed frozen pomegranate arils, or look for fresh arils in the cut fruit fridge.
