How To Remove A Stone Safely From Your Avocado

Avoid the emergency department and safely remove your avocado stone with a spoon

Removing the slippery, tricky-to-get-a-hold-of stone from an avocado, using a knife to stab or strike at it, has ended in many hospital visits. So, for you to avoid the emergency department, you can safely remove your stone with a spoon!

Step 1

Slice in half by running a knife lengthways around the circumference of the avocado, that is from top to bottom and back. Psst, do this on the bench, not in your hand. Twist each half in opposite directions and pull the halves apart.

Step 2

Using a teaspoon, gently insert the edge of the spoon in between the stone and the flesh, working your way around the stone until it is loose.

Step 3

Slice in half by running a knife lengthways around the circumference of the avocado, that is from top Use the spoon to scoop out the seed.
